Purple Saturdays

To mark International Day of Education, members of the ‘Purple Saturdays movement organised a protest rally in response to the ban on girls’ education by the Taliban in Afghanistan.

“The one and a half years rule of the Taliban proved that there has been no change in the Taliban’s view of women,” the protesters said.The members of this movement called on the international #community to put more pressure on the Taliban and urged them to stop interacting with this group.They also demanded “national unity” of citizens living within and outside Afghanistan against the Taliban.

نسرین ،فرامز معاون جنبش شنبه های ارغوانی و فعال حقوق زنان میگوید که موضوع حق کار وحق تحصیل زنان در افغانستان موضوع “جهانی” است و باید بر طالبان فشار آورده شود تا این حقوق انسانی زنان را رعایت کنند. پیش از این طالبان در واکنش به موقف شورای امنیت مبنی بر محکوم کردن منع کار زنان در سازمان ملل متحد و سازمانهای غیر حکومتی گفته است که این اقدام آنان یک موضوع اجتماعی داخلی و انتخاب مستقل افغانستان است که تاثیری بر کشورهای خارجی .ندارد. فرامز به صدای آمریکا گفت سازمان ملل برای فشار آوردن به طالبان باید کمکهای نقدی به افغانستان را مقید به رعایت حقوق زنان و حقوق بشر در افغانستان کند

The protest of Purple Saturdays  in Balkh Province, Nasreen, Farmarez, deputy of the Purple Saturdays Movement, says that the clothes that the Taliban have in mind as uniforms for girls students are more like a traditional dress.
